What are Mummy* and Me piano lessons?
Mummy* and Me Lessons are private piano lessons for you and your child. It doesn’t have to be Mum – Dads, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles etc are all welcome, as long as it’s the same person each week.
The idea of Mummy* and Me lessons is to make piano accessible to younger (3 and 4 year old) children, while making sure that the adult benefits from it too. It is a great chance to bond with your child, as you are both learning something new – and therefore the perfect way to spend some quality time together.
Lessons are catered to the needs of you and your child – so no two lessons will be the same!
Who are lessons aimed at?
The child should be someone who is 3 or 4 (ie in the year before they start school) and showing an interest in learning to play the piano. The adult should be someone who would like to fuel this interest and support their child at home, but also someone who wants to learn to play the piano too. If this is you, please get in touch!
Where and when are lessons held?
Lessons are 40 minutes and are held once a week, at the same time each week. I teach from home in Rawdon, Leeds. Lessons are currently available on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Please contact me to arrange a time!
How much do lessons cost?
A 40 minute weekly lesson costs £10. I offer a 3 week trial for £25 – after this lessons are payable at the beginning of each half term. Lessons are payable in half-term blocks.
Do I need to have a piano at home?
Ideally, yes. An upright piano is best, but a digital piano is fine too. As a minimum, you will need a keyboard with weighted keys (ie one that plays loud and soft depending on how hard you press the keys)
Do you teach during the school holidays?
No – lessons are term-time only. I have 2 young children of my own, and organise lessons around when they are at school and nursery!
